The principal of SRRE Developers and Builders in Houston, Texas, Karun Sreerama is an accomplished engineer, entrepreneur, and civic leader. Dismayed by the lack of affordable housing after the devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey, Karun Sreerama has committed his business resources to expanding affordable housing availability in the Houston area.

As part of municipal recovery efforts, the City of Houston recently opened 14 Neighborhood Restoration Centers in the areas most impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The centers are intended to provide long-term support to residents as they try to rebuild their homes, businesses, and lives. The centers operate in partnership with case managers from local nonprofit organizations, including BakerRipley, the Houston Area Urban League, and Memorial Assistance Ministries.

In addition to providing resources designed to guide and assist residents through the recovery process, the centers will conduct outreach initiatives, assess recovery progress, and organize workshops and other special events for residents.
